On Friday 2 March, leaders from across the NSW Government were invited to attend an asset management executive breakfast jointly hosted by the Asset Management Council (AMC), Infrastructure NSW (INSW) and Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

At the breakfast, Jim Betts, CEO, INSW, outlined the 2018 State Infrastructure Strategy’s recommendation for a revised asset management policy, including a new assurance model for NSW Government.

Tim Reardon, Secretary, Department of Premier and Cabinet, announced the NSW Government partnership with the AMC to support the delivery of the recommendations of the soon-to-be-released 2018 State Infrastructure Strategy.

During the presentations, Tim Reardon reinforced the importance of assurance in delivering customer outcomes while Jim Modrouvanos, Executive Director, Asset Standards Authority (ASA) and John Hardwick, representing the AMC, gave insightful examples and perspectives on how the organisations can assist in raising asset management maturity across government agencies.

Chaired by Toby Horstead (Director Network & Asset Strategy, ASA), the cross-section of various departments and agencies provided a great networking opportunity for cross-government collaboration.
